How Influencers Promote Restaurants

At Lighthouse Advisory, we are rethinking influencer marketing within the hospitality industry.

LHA works extensively with restaurants and other hospitality-focused businesses. We designed this Influencer Marketing Service to streamline collaborations between the hospitality industry and influencers.

Influencers Impact

Today, we're looking at the impact influencers can have on restaurants.

Skirt Steak, a New York restaurant, opened in 2021.

Shortly after, @sistersnacking (a social media food review account) posted a review of their visit.

The next day, the owner was astonished to find a line of eager customers wrapped around the block.

They all wanted to experience the culinary delights for themselves.

It's just one example of influencers' significant impact on restaurants.

On the other side of the world, a study in Portugal revealed that over 80% of 400 respondents had visited a restaurant because an influencer had featured it.

For restaurants, collaborating with creators can be challenging due to various reasons:

  • Limited resources.

  • Small social media teams.

  • Difficulty in identifying the right influencers.

Lighthouse Advisory Influencer Marketing Service

Tapping into social media, many restaurants struggle to connect with influencers.

They often have to source them independently or look for recommendations.

Lighthouse Advisory pairs influencers with restaurants (and similar businesses).

Influencers are sourced and vetted to join LHA's service free of charge.

We evaluate potential influencers based on content quality and a minimum follower count of 10,000.

Once accepted, influencers gain access to offers from various businesses in exchange for content.

These incentives can include vouchers redeemable for food, cocktails, or other products.

(Lighthouse Advisory doesn't allow companies to offer influencers "only a discount" for content. We believe in providing influencers with fair compensation and tangible rewards, such as products or vouchers.)

A Perfect Match

The inspiration for this service came from the challenges we experienced working with restaurants.

Janko Brlecic, the founder of LHA, recalls, "On the restaurant side, I found it frustrating. You'd go back and forth, all week long, trying to arrange collaborations."

Businesses seeking influencers can reach out to LHA with their specific requirements.

They can specify:

  • The type of influencers

  • Content they are looking for

  • Location

  • Preferred social media platforms

  • Or the minimum follower count

    LHA will handle the matchmaking.

Hospitality brands are recognizing the value of influencers.

Especially given that many people now turn to social media, like Instagram and TikTok, as search engines.

The Next Step

The next step for Lighthouse Advisory’s Influencer Marketing Service is to introduce "premium collaborations."

It will be only available to influencers who have produced exceptional content for clients.

A dedicated team will assess influencers' content for quality.

They'll look for attributes of excellence, such as videos with voiceovers and polished editing.
